May News Update

Summer is clearly heading our way, and that means lots of things are happening at West Central Park. Our partners at the Saturday Market have got a full lineup of vendors, music and activities every Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Info about vendors and music for each week is posted on their social media pages at saturdaymarketatthewcp.

You may have noticed the Free Little Art Gallery has gone missing. Worry not: thanks to the support of many Free Little Art Gallery lovers, we've acquired a new gallery box and it should be up and ready for new art soon. The original gallery was damaged by vandals, and we're hoping the new design is more robust and easier to use. Bring some tiny art you've created, and take something you find there in exchange! We'll let you know when it's ready.

Our free summer concert series starts June 10 and is scheduled to run through mid-September. Concerts will happen on Saturday evenings from 7 to 9pm, with some exceptions for special events on other days. The calendar is on our website and a more complete schedule with descriptions of the music will be published soon. WE NEED CONCERT VOLUNTEERS! You don't have to be an experienced roadie to help keep the music going -- just a willingness to show up on schedule, and help get things set up and taken down after the show. Sign up for all or just a handful of concerts. Email info(at)westcentralpark.org for details.

Love gardening but don't have room or sun or the energy to build raised beds? We have two fantastic, full-sun raised beds to share, either with a group or with a few people working alongside our volunteers who want to get their hands in the (excellent) dirt, watch things grow, and share in the bounty. Reach out if you're interested.

More soon!
