Come on down to the West Central Park this Sunday, February 2nd, from 10 to 1 and help us keep the park looking lovely! We will be weeding, mulching and picking up garbage this Sunday as well as digging a test drain hold in our event pad to help us analyze ways we can improve park drainage. A layer of hardened, packed clay lies a foot under our pad and that is slow to drain. We will be digging a foot square test drain in the lowest corner of the pad, through that clay layer, to see how it will effect the drainage of the entire pad.
Volunteers will also be needed to move the big stage to where it will be in our Phase 2 layout. Visioning and layout of the whole park will also be discussed and shared with the work party group this Sunday. Have some ideas about how you’d like to get involved with the Park Project? Stop by this Sunday and let us know.
Community involvement is a key piece of the park’s future development. Now that the parcel is owned by the project, decisions must be thorough and careful and rely on a variety of input from the park’s neighbors. Come down and find out how you can be a part of those decisions at any of our Sunday Work Parties, or contact us here anytime.
Thanks Olympia, the future of West Central Park is in your hands!
