Park volunteers have been working behind the scenes as well as directly on the scene making West Central Park a beautiful oasis for the community. Sunday work parties continue whenever the weather allows, and our hearty helpers always show up to put the muscle in. 10 yards of mulch were moved last week to cover our newly planted berms. This helps all of our soil and plants stay in place and helps keep minerals and nutrients from running off.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to complete our 501c3 application, and now that its done, patience! In addition, we have begun the process for alley vacation with the city. That process is two to three months long as it depends on a public commentary period. More patience.
If you hadn’t heard, West Central Park just recently changed hands and now officially belongs to the West Central Park Project. The Project’s Board of Trustees have prepared for this, and are now proud to be the new caretakers.
Come on out to our next work party on 2/23/14 from 10 to 1 and find out more about how you can be involved!
