The West Central Park is happy to announce our third major summer event – the Sustainable Living Exposition. We’ll be hosting an array of local organizations and groups who will be sharing the ways they – and you! – are moving Olympia toward a greener future. The event will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 1PM to 5PM.
There will be presentations and information on a wide variety of topics, ranging from composting to conservation, preservation to permaculture, recycling to rain gardens, solar energy, native plants, and transportation. Guests will include Intercity Transit, GRuB, the City of Olympia, Fellowship of Reconciliation, Options for Solar/Plug-In Olympia, Northwest Eco Building Guild, Heritage Commission, Native Plant Salvage Project, Yelm Earthworm and Casting Farm, and more!
We also plan to have music and food at the event, so be sure to mark your calendar and join us at this awesome event.
In other news, Alicia and Dennis had a productive meeting with City Planning officials Wednesday morning and made some great headway in moving us toward obtaining our official use designation as a neighborhood park.
We’ll also be having another work party this Sunday at 10 AM, so if you’d like to come help out, we’ll be there until 1 or 2PM.
And one last reminder, the KAOS Kids Dance Party, part of KAOS’s 40th Anniversary celebration, is taking place at the Park this Saturday (tomorrow!) at 12:30PM to 3:30PM, so come down and help us support this great Olympia institution.
See you at the Park!
